Except for a long slow down on an interstate due to a traffic accident a few miles ahead of us, our road travel has gone well. After crossing into North Carolina we began to see more signs of Spring.

We visited with John and Linda Manka, friends from Shenandoah National Park, (now Bluffton, SC) and spent a lovely afternoon in Savannah GA wandering around the beautiful gardens. Lots of history and charm in this city!! We also did some people watching, and were curious about a family group (including a grandbaby) that sported tee shirts with a photo of an older bald guy. John’s curiosity caused him to inquire, and learned that the whole family were celebrating their Dad’s first colonoscopy!

Yesterday was a lovely spring day for a boat ride into the east side of Okefenoke Swamp Wildlife Refuge. We were the only passengers on a 24 passenger boat, so we were able to ask lots of questions, and our guide slowed or stopped, or backed up often for us to watch or photograph the wildlife – lots of alligators.

When possible, we ask people what causes them to smile, or have a sense of joy in their hearts! So far, “family”, or “people” in their lives is topping the list! Quite interesting, because our journey is connecting with people as we enjoy the travels through God’s marvelous creation.

Prayer Request: favor with Honnold Foundation to provide a $300,000 plus grant for a Community Activity Center in Monre Oge, Haiti. It would house the Restore Haiti feeding center (we have outgrown the church space being used currently), allow us to relocate the Health Center (no electricity or water), relocate the Office and Student Computer Center, and also serve as safe community space for education programs, and social activities. The facility would be solar powered!!

We just got the first application finished and submitted last evening. Now we pray that the judges will want to learn more and give consideration to this need. (Praise the Lord we had great internet connection at the campground so we could complete it!) Your prayers are important!!

Thanks for joining our story! The Yordys
